Many domestic mobile phones released in 2019 use AMOLED panels, and the AMOLED market share is still increasing. According to a statistical report from research firm CINNO Research, AMOLED panels accounted for 23.2% of global smartphones in 2018 and will increase to 27.6%.

However, in the Q1 quarter of this year, global smartphone AMOLED panel shipments were 86.7 million, a decrease of 20% year-on-year.

In terms of market share, Samsung is still the world ’s largest supplier of AMOLED mobile phone panels, with a share of 85.7%. However, from the perspective of trends, Samsung has fallen below 90% for the first time. In the past few years, Samsung has maintained a long-term 95% + Share.

In the Q1 quarter, BOE BOE ranked second in the AMOLED mobile phone panel market. Last year, the company ranked fifth, and this year it soared to second with a market share of 5.9%.

BOE's rapid advancement in the AMOLED panel field is largely due to Huawei. Currently, Huawei is their largest customer. Starting from last year's Mate 20 Pro, BOE ’s AMOELD panel was used for the first time. The series of mobile phones shipped 10 million units in just over 80 days.

CINNO Research expects BOE to settle for the second place in the global AMOLED panel market this year.

After Samsung and BOE, the share of other manufacturers is very low, GVO Visionox, LGD, EDO and Hui Optoelectronics, Tianma Microelectronics, AUO AU Optronics share between 2.8% to 0.1%, but it should be noted that Except for LGD and AU AUO, all other manufacturers are from mainland China, and AMOLED production capacity has been greatly expanded, so the prospect cannot be underestimated.

According to CINNO Research statistics, in the first quarter of 2019, BOE AMOLED smart panel shipments rose to 50,000 m2, accounting for 6.3% of the global AMOLED smart panel shipments. From the first quarter of 2017 to the first quarter of 2019, the quarterly compound growth rate of BOE AMOLED smart panel shipments reached 49.4%.
