It is reported that at the "2019 7th China Electronic Information Expo" (CITE 2019), which was recently completed, the display products highlighted by various suppliers showed the enthusiasm of Chinese flat-panel enterprises to develop flexible AMOLED panels and drilled panels.
In addition to the production of flexible AMOLED panels for its own brand of FlexPai collapsible smartphones, other suppliers including BOE, Visionox Tianma Microelectronics, Huiguang and Huaxing Optoelectronics (CSOT), etc. They presented their AMOLED solutions at the show.
As free-form displays have been extended to include HD display products, Chinese panel makers have also demonstrated their intention to extend drilling technology to include high-end Full HD mobile displays.
Tianma and Huaxing Optoelectronics are particularly keen on the development of drilled display products, as both companies have introduced drilled displays such as perforations and blind holes.
According to industry sources, Huaxing Optoelectronics has begun to ship through-hole displays to Samsung Electronics, and Tianma has also received orders for blind hole products from some local mobile phone manufacturers in China.
As for the development of other emerging technologies, Tianma also showed its Mini LED backlight mobile phone module at the exhibition, while Huaxing Optoelectronics highlighted the self-luminous display device using Mini LED as the light source.
