According to relevant data, it is still unclear when the mass production of Micro LEDs will begin, but we do know that Mini LEDs used as backlights for LCD screens have been put into mass production in the second half of 2018, mainly due to their low production. Cost and application are simpler.
In addition to being used as a backlight for LCD displays, Mini LEDs can also be used to support active matrix (AM) illuminated displays. However, backlighting is easier to implement. This application requires only a monochrome Mini LED, which makes the production process simpler and the production cost lower.
