Company News >> Demand improvement Large LCD panel prices are expected to remain stable 14th,Nov,2018
On March 31, it is estimated that the price of large LCD panels will maintain the current level and will be stable and stable during the period from April to June 2009.

The average wholesale price for a 32-inch LCD TV panel is $170, which is the same as the price range at the beginning of the year. The 17-inch computer screen panel is up 4% from a month ago. In contrast, the prices of the two products have fallen by 50% in the half year since the summer of 2008.

Panel makers want to curb the decline, so they drastically reduce production, and some factories cut production by as much as 70%. South Korean panel LG Display Co. (034220-KR) and Samsung Electronics Co. (066570-KR) both reduced production by 30%. Panel makers in Japan followed suit late, but at the end of 2008 they finally followed up on production cuts.

The Japanese panel factory will ease the production reduction in April-June, and it is estimated that it will not cause oversupply in the panel market. BCN Inc., the market-adjusting company, observed sales of Japanese LCD TVs from March 1 to 25, and found that it increased by 35.5% compared with the same period last year. In February, the increase rate was 30%.

In China, the government's stimulus package includes subsidizing consumers to buy electronic products, which has led to a surge in demand for small LCD TVs made in Japan.

According to Taiwan's panel industry leader AU Optronics, orders from mainland TV manufacturers have been growing since December. Samsung also mentioned that panel demand from China has picked up. The US TV sales are also beginning to stabilize.

However, despite the above factors, the LCD panel price recovery process is still difficult. According to market research company DisplaySearch, panel makers will have a capacity utilization rate of 75% in the second quarter. It is 15% higher than the first quarter, but it is still relatively low.
