After several years of hard work, the Taiwan panel factory finally paid a beautiful transcript last year; however, the research institute Photonics Association (PIDA) is expected to follow the new capacity of the land panel factory, which will seriously invade the market. Last year's total revenue of Taiwan's four major panel makers increased by 7% compared with the previous year. The total output value reached RMB 728.7 billion. From the six consecutive years of recession since 2011, it saw growth for the first time last year.
PIDA pointed out that looking around the current global panel industry has entered a mature stage, so the future must be a global competitive relationship, while the panel industry and the semiconductor industry are both high-capitalization and high-tech intensive industries. If there is no continuous large-scale research and development and investment, the future Competitiveness is worth worrying about; compared with land-based competition, Taiwanese companies have significantly reduced their investment in new plants.
Fortunately, last year, Taiwan's four major panel makers got rid of the six-year recession and grew for the first time in seven years. The supply of large-size panels for TV sets continued to be tight, prompting the large panel to continue to be high in the first half of last year, but the price surged. After the profit of the machine factory, the price reversal fell. Fortunately, the quotation was improved in December last year. After the correction of the short-term panel price, the LCD panel price remained stable and high price recently. Last year, the panel factory also brought cash flow to the manufacturer. Living water will help Taiwanese factories face the price war of subsequent possible land plants.
PIDA expects that the subsequent panel factory will face the challenge of the rise of the land plant. It is expected that the competitive pressure of the industry will not be obvious in the short term this year. With the launch of the new large-scale factory of the 10.5-generation line in mainland China at the end of this year, it is expected that the new product will be mass-produced. For panel prices to trigger fierce price competition, it is expected that the panel will face a new round of oversupply, and panel prices will begin to enter a gradual decline.
