Lin Sheng-chang, president of Taiwan's CPT, pointed out that due to strong demand for 18:9 full-screen panels, CPT has already raised some quotations for mobile application panels in the second quarter; and is currently negotiating with customers to continue to improve third. Quarterly price. At present, the order visibility of the company's full-screen display has been extended to the third quarter, and it is expected to increase the proportion of full-screen display panels in total mobile phone panel shipments from the current 60-70% to over 80% by the end of 2018.
Although the company also plans to begin selling bangs-style mobile phone panels in the third quarter, shipments of bangs-style panels will be limited as full-screen models will continue to dominate the market. Affected by the expansion of panel size, CPT's mobile phone panel shipments are expected to reach 1.3-140 million units in 2018, a slight decrease from the 160 million units in the same period last year. Lin said that the average size of mobile phone panels in 2017 is 4-4.5 inches, and may expand to 5 inches in 2018.
In 2018, auto panel shipments will increase to 14 million units, compared with 12 million units shipped in the same period last year. Lin said that CPT continues to expand the proportion of automotive and industrial control application panels to total panel shipments to two-thirds to maintain future growth.
