A high-profile LCD panel expert believes that China is cutting prices to win more markets.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs went to the Legislative Yuan yesterday (15) to report on the progress of cross-strait negotiations on goods and trade. Minister Deng Zhenzhong revealed that the mainland is willing to make profits in the three parts of the panel, machine tools, small and medium-sized enterprises and traditional industries. The 12th negotiation is scheduled for November. In Taiwan, Taiwan hopes to finish the talks by the end of the year.
The 11th round of cross-strait cargo and trade negotiations just ended at the end of September. The two sides continued to exchange views on cross-strait industrial cooperation, complementarity and rules of origin.
The Ministry of Economic Affairs went to the Legislative Yuan yesterday to report the progress to the Legislative Yuan Wang Jinping and the ruling party group, but the Democratic Progressive Party did not attend. Only the Taiwan Federation and the Kuomintang group sent representatives to attend the meeting.
Deng Zhenzhong said that the first 12 countries that joined the TPP are mainly based in mainland China. If the two sides can complete the negotiations on goods and trades early, they will help China to apply for TPP. The open project of Taiwan in the negotiations on goods and trade is also joining in the future. TPP must be open to the project. If it can be liberalized first, it can reduce the impact of entering the TPP.
During the meeting, the ruling party group asked about the progress of the negotiations and "What did we and the other side do?" Deng Zhenzhong revealed that the mainland has released three major points of willingness to make concessions: First, China's current strong industries, including panels and machine tools, "They are willing to make a profit."
The second one is a small and medium-sized enterprise that accounts for more than 70% of our industry. After the signing of the domestic trade and trade, it will benefit China's small and medium-sized enterprises. The third is the traditional industry. "This part, they are also willing to let."
It is reported that the four major industries, such as petrochemicals, automobiles, panels and machine tools, which Taiwan is striving for, may be opened by quotas. The first three industries are far more demanding than the supply in the mainland, and the number of Taiwanese companies entering the mainland market is small. Lu, there is no need to worry that demand will be "all eaten by Taiwan." As for the machine tool, the land side will strictly abide by the rules of origin, and the key components or controllers of the machine tool must be made in Taiwan or mainland China.
As for what the mainland wants? Deng Zhenzhong revealed that the main reason is that the WTO originally required member states to be open, and the Taiwanese side imposed restrictions on the mainland alone. Taiwan still bans imports of more than 1,400 industrial products and more than 830 agricultural products. Officials said that industrial products can be discussed, but agricultural products will remain strict.
