OLED material overall market size
One of the big things in the industry chain in 2017 is the release of Apple's iPhone X mobile phone. In particular, the AMOLED screen has a significant pulling effect on the upstream industry chain, driving AMOLED panel manufacturers and upstream OLED material manufacturers to actively stock up. According to the OFweek Industry Research Institute, the global OLED materials market in 2017 was US$856 million, a significant increase of 61% year-on-year. With the production of many AMOLED panel production lines in China, it is expected that the global OLED materials market will reach 1.258 billion US dollars in 2018, a year-on-year increase of 47%.

There are two main application markets for AMOLED panels: smart phones and OLED color TVs. Major mobile phone brand manufacturers such as Huawei, OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, Apple, Samsung and other new flagship models all adopt AMOLED display technology, which greatly increases the demand for OLED panels. In 2017, China's OLED TV sales reached 120,000 units, and Sony, Philips, LG, Skyworth, Konka and other TV manufacturers joined the OLED camp to achieve differentiated sales. The industry is optimistic that the overall sales volume of China's OLED TVs will be at least doubled in 2017 based on 2017, which will greatly increase the demand for upstream OLED materials.
OLED material classification
OLED materials mainly include two parts: luminescent materials and basic materials, which account for about 30% of the cost of OLED screen materials. OLED luminescent materials mainly include red light body/guest material, green light body/guest material, blue light body/guest material, and the like. OLED general-purpose materials, mainly including electron transport layer ETL, electron injection layer EIL, hole injection layer HIL, hole transport layer HTL, hole blocking layer HBL, electron blocking layer EBL, etc., with the optimization of device structure, material types It is constantly changing. The organic light-emitting layer material and the transport layer material are key materials of the OLED.

According to the OFweek Industry Research Institute, the global OLED luminescent materials market in 2017 was $404 million, and the general-purpose materials were $452 million. It is expected to grow to $560 million and $698 million in 2018, respectively.
