Company News >> OLED replaces LCD to solve eight problems 14th,May,2018
                                                  Five years ago, it was said that OLEDs have been recognized as a replacement for liquid crystals. At the same time, OLED TVs will become popular in 2-3 years and technical problems will be resolved.
Time goes by today, where high costs, high prices, low yields, and "short-lived" problems are still there. Of course, some people will certainly say that in another 2-3 years, now we are not faced with the problem, because nobody can stop the wheels of OLED...
Regardless of whether it is good or bad, the industry is also full of different opinions. Can OLED replace LCD? Why did a company suddenly give up half of it? Where does the sound of OLED query come from? Today the author came to chat with you.
50 years later, 50 years later, 8 reasons to see OLED
·OLED technology will become a trend
It will be sooner or later for OLEDs to replace LCDs, just as CRTs are replaced by LCDs. Better display effects, new backlight modes, and more robust plasticity are another reason OLEDs have enough reason to completely replace LCDs. However, does the time really come? It is not the technology itself but the commercial interest that drives the display of technological alternatives in the industrial field.
·Do or not? This is a problem
Companies are never afraid of not having a market. On OLED TVs, we can divide them into three factions: 1. Focus on OLED TVs; 2. After trying for a period of time, it seems that “problems” have been discovered, so it has become a wait-and-see attitude; 3 Stick to the LCD position.
We can say that OLED is rapidly rising. It can also be said that OLED is a completely new imaging method that is completely different from “ALED, BLED, and CLED”. It also does not rule out that all products in the market will be labeled with OLED.
Some people began to force OLED, in fact, the reasons are nothing more than three aspects: 1. Money: The most intuitive is the ordinary LCD TV and OLED TV price comparison, which also can imagine the profit rate. 2. Market: Whoever is advanced will have the right to speak. 3. Enterprise layout: Prepare OLED market layout early and wait for market timing.
So now did not do OLED, which is "doed" and did not start doing. What are they thinking? Let's take a look at: 1. Many product problems: As mentioned in the previous article, the yield rate is low, burning screen, afterimage problems, etc.; 2. The cost is too high: Now this is basically to lose money and earn money; 3. Waiting time: Everyone is waiting, so that some product problems are solved, technology is guaranteed, and there is a real market.
· Why see OLED TVs in the short term?
It is very difficult for OLED TVs to popularize or replace LCDs in the short term, and the main reasons for editing appear to be 8:
1. Expensive price: With the same size, the price of an OLED new TV is about 1.5-2 times higher than the price of an ordinary 4K LCD TV. The price is too expensive. What will consumers choose?
2. High cost: technical and panel factors limit the cost of OLED TV production;
3. Low production capacity: Due to the high cost, many companies stated that mass production is unlikely in the short term;
4. Low yield rate: It is difficult to make large-size panels, resulting in low yields;
5. The market is immature: only some brands are doing, and the number of products is small, otherwise no one will do half or not;
6. Short life: self-luminous performance is severely attenuated, and product life is less than half that of LCD TVs;
7. Poor stability: The most widely used a-Si TFT technology in the LCD industry, although it has the advantages of good uniformity, simple process, mature technology, and low cost, due to its low carrier mobility and insufficient OLED drive capability, There is a problem of threshold voltage drift, which is used in OLEDs to have a fatal disadvantage of poor device performance stability.
8. Image quality issues: OLED products have residual image, short life, image sintering (each boot can not exceed 4 hours) problem.
·Editing summary
The full-text idea is a sentence: After 50 years, 50 years later, the LCD era has not yet passed. It is impossible to replace LCD TVs with OLED TVs in the short term.
