Company News >> OLED capacity is divided by Apple Samsung Huawei OLED panel out of stock 12th,March,2018
According to foreign media reports, OLED screens have become increasingly popular in recent years. Manufacturers all want to use it as a new selling point for their own machines. However, due to limited production capacity, OLED screens must rely on “grabbing.” This year, the iPhone 8 will replace the OLED screen. In front of the silver bullet, Samsung has prepared 75 million OLED screens for Apple. In contrast, Huawei only uses 8% of its devices this year, which will seriously damage its high-end products. Market competitiveness.

DigiTimes' data shows that 70% of the world's OLED screens produced in 2017 and 2018 are on the Apple and Samsung production lines. Affected by this, other manufacturers can only slow down the original plan and return to the embrace of the LCD screen.
This year, Apple will get 75 million OLED screens from Samsung, accounting for 14% of the annual OLED screen production capacity. As the only OLED screen manufacturer in the world and the world’s largest smartphone maker, Samsung will consume 56% of the world’s OLED screens. As an earlier domestic manufacturer of early adopter OLED screens, OPPO and vivo will respectively receive 13% and 10% of OLED screens.
After seeing the new business opportunities brought by the OLED screen, the screen suppliers have all accelerated their progress. LG will ship its own OLED screen next year. BOE's OLED screen will also be officially launched in 2020.
In December last year, JDI received a US$636 million bailout fund from a Japanese government-backed investment company. Some of this money was used to purchase OLED company Joled, but it is unclear when JDI will ship an OLED screen. In addition, Apple’s old partner, Foxconn, is also increasing the research and development of OLED screens after it acquires Sharp.
Due to the limited production capacity, it takes several years for Apple to fully embrace the OLED screen. Therefore, only the iPhone 8 can use the OLED screen this year.
