According to a report provided by Taiwan's market research agency MIC recently, the shortage of large-size TFT-LCD flat panel market in the second half of this year will affect the sales of notebook computers.
MIC said that in the first quarter of this year and the second quarter of large-size TFT-LCD flat panel market will appear excess supply, but by the third quarter, the TFT-LCD flat panel market supply will be 7% shortage, thus affecting Sales to laptops, especially 12.1-inch and 15.4-inch products.
MIC analyst Linda Lin said the large-size TFT-LCD flat panel supply situation is expected to slow down in 2009, as the fifth generation flat panel will begin volume production. It is predicted that in 2008 laptop TFT-LCD tablet shipments will reach 131 million.
