April 13 news, market research firm iSuppli April 7 released a latest research report. The report shows that NetPress demand growth affected by the expected 2008-2012, 7 to 10-inch LCD panel shipments from the original 13.1 million jumped 3-fold to 47.4 million. Sales also grew 3 times, is expected in 2012 the total will rise to 2.1 billion US dollars.
According to iSuppli's definition, Netbook is a full-featured mobile PC that includes storage, keyboard and wireless networking capabilities. At the same time the price is lower than 600 US dollars.
iSuppli said that due to optimistic about Netbook market, LCD factory is expected to catch the ride, the current LCD manufacturers will use 3 to 5 generations to produce Netbook small and medium-size panels. iSuppli also pointed out that because these factories originally used large display panels as their main products, they now had to lower their production prices so that LCD manufacturers could jointly produce goods at a lower price.
