Research firm IDTechEx recently released the latest OLED display market forecast that the market this year will reach 16 billion US dollars, by 2026 is expected to reach 57 billion US dollars.
Over the past two years, the company has correctly predicted that plastic OLEDs and flexible OLEDs will become mainstream in the display market. In its latest report, the company revised the market forecast target based on the capacity increase plan.
IDTechEx said that the plastic and flexible AMOLED market in 2020 will reach $ 18 billion. These two parts are currently mainly smart phones and wearable devices, such as Apple Watch. Once the technology is more mature, it may be used for automotive displays.
New applications for wearable equipment, such as Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), provide new opportunities for Oled display manufacturers.
IDTechEx will showcase new materials and technologies on the SID Display Week in San Francisco, including OLED, quantum dots, wearable equipment and printed electronics. During the event, IDTechEx analysts will speak at seminars and exhibitors' forums.
